Doll - bisque or china head with blue eyes that open and close, possibly human hair,
plaster hands and arms - stiff body, but jointed arms and legs - dressed in starched white lace cap,
heavy cotton "slip" with wool skirt, cotton "blouse:, heavy wool jacket and heavy wool apron.
Also wearing long "bloomers", black stockings, and wooden shoes. In original box lined with paper lace - unfortunately box has dried out and collapsed! Overall height of doll 14" - also has beads which may or may not belong. Markings on back of head: "Heubahhoppelsdorf 251 - 12/o Germany" Gift to Mother by family friend - 1930's. |
